How to Prevent a Sunburn

- Avoid excessive exposure to the sun during the hottest hours of the day (between 11 and 15), - in case of exposure to the sun for several hours, wearing appropriate clothing (tightly woven clothing and light colored) and hat protect the head
- always use a broad-spectrum sunscreen (that is, able to shield both the UVA rays responsible for aging skin, the UVB rays responsible for sunburn and burns) with high shielding factor (factor 15 30 or more for adults and children), even on days when the sky is overcast, or under the umbrella at the beach or the pool;
- apply the cream evenly before exposure to the sun
- reapply sunscreen every two hours when you are outdoors, and especially if you swim or sweat it;
- the garments are the best means of protection against solar radiation, the tissue should be tightly woven. There are clothes for children with protection comparable to sunscreen with a protection factor greater than 50;
- wear a hat with visor and large protective sunglasses;
- gradually accustom the skin to sunlight, according to the time determined by the security personnel phototype ;
- protect children and teach them to protect themselves;
- examine your skin from head to foot at least once every 2-3 months and contact your dermatologist if you notice something new or changed.
- make a visit to a dermatologist for the prevention once a year, especially if you are at risk (fair skin, blue or green eyes, blond hair, light brown or red, the presence of numerous moles, family history of melanoma or personal).
